Insights From Secondary Research:

Water is essential for our bodies, but the amount needed can vary significantly from person to person. Some health-conscious individuals may go overboard with their water intake, potentially leading to water toxicity, which can be deadly if taken to extremes. Conversely, others facing work-related stress, imbalanced lifestyles, unexpected situations like emergencies, consumption of drinks like coffee, alcohol or health issues may not drink enough water, causing problems like dehydration, constipation, kidney stones, digestive issues, and skin ailments. Ideally, the a healthy human water intake consumption is 6-8 galsses of water per day. Determining the right water intake for an individual involves considering factors such as gender, age, physical activity, weight, health condition, location, and daily routine, highlighting the importance of personalized recommendations.

In today's fast-paced lifestyle, people often struggle to monitor their daily water intake, resorting to a mere "drink when thirsty" approach, which may not be sufficient. The amount of water one should consume varies significantly based on individual demographics. ‘Water Pal’, an innovative app that not only aids in tracking your daily water intake but also offers personalized guidance on how much water you should be drinking. This guidance is tailored to your unique demographics and needs. Furthermore, ‘Water Pal ‘ goes beyond simple tracking; it provides valuable tips and even offers personal consultations to ensure you stay adequately hydrated and lead a healthier life.

"My busy lifestyle, work-life imbalance, and occasional laziness make it hard for me to stick to a water intake routine."

"I lack clear instructions on how to create a suitable water intake plan that matches my age and health requirements."

Insights:

Insights from the research have led to the identification of three distinct personas: a primary user in the 30-year age group dealing with issues like work-life imbalance, frustration, anger, and self-irritation due to challenges in maintaining a water intake routine, a secondary user aged 18 and above, and a tertiary user in the 50+ age group. These personas exhibit varying reasons for struggling with their water intake routines but share common objectives and pain points.

User Journey Map:

User experience map helped me understand the exact pain points of the user and the opportunities it creates through an app to increase user experience through giving user the freedom to take certain actions such as setting daily planner,alaram alerts and so on.

Task Flows Insights:

User demographics helped me gain clarity on what are the different tasks required to be completed as per the app such as starting with heading user to fill all their details on health conditin,body condition and current location,which would later help them to get a concise water intake guidance.Users are given a freedom to customize their daily shedule in a simple process so they get customized water intake guidance.Flexibility and freedom to customize alarams at any time irrespective of situation through simple and easy decisions .From the affinity mapping it helped me to narrow down that people lack resources to get personalised guidance.This task flow helps them to approach a specialist of their choice to take consultation from so it will help the user to get personalized water intake guidance.

Primary Research & Affinity Mapping Insights:

Many individuals, due to their imbalanced study/work and professional lifestyle and unexpected situations, struggle with consistent water intake. Address health issues like dehydration, constipation and provide clear, tailored hydration guidance. Analyze factors such as health status and seasonal changes affecting water intake. Despite willingness, busy lifestyles and overwhelming information hinder people, highlighting the need for tailored hydration advice to improve water intake routine habits effectively.

Two shades of blue draw inspiration from real-life experiences with watercolor, and the color blue is associated with characteristics such as reliability, loyalty, and trustworthiness. The Poppins typeface is highly readable and user-friendly in Android apps, making it effortless for users to engage with the app's screens. .This font seamlessly complements the water intake app I am creating, as it imparts a sense of expansiveness and breadth, mirroring the sensation of water.

Conclusion:

In summary, the Water Pal mobile app has been thoughtfully crafted to address users' specific needs and objectives by providing solutions such as tailored planning, alarm alerts, personalized guidance, and one-on-one consultations. This comprehensive approach ensures that users can effortlessly maintain their water intake routine without feeling overwhelmed by an abundance of resources.
Throughout the development process, there were challenges encountered, particularly during the transition from low-fidelity to high-fidelity design iterations. Despite these obstacles, the design underwent multiple revisions, ultimately resulting in a product that effectively caters to all the pain points and objectives of the user base.
While users have expressed appreciation for the app's design, it's worth noting that there is room for improvement in aligning the visuals colors more closely with the overall app design in some of the screens like customized planner and alarm alert screens. Such refinements could enhance the overall user experience and ensure that the app's visuals are harmoniously integrated with its functionality
